Tripled fixed point theorems for monotone mappings in partially ordered metric spaces
Author: Marin Borcut
Abstract: In this paper, we introduce the concept of tripled fixed point for nonlinear and monotone mappings in partially ordered complete metric spaces and obtain existence as well as existence and uniqueness theorems for contractive type mappings. Our results generalize and extend recent tripled fixed point theorems established by Berinde and Borcut [Berinde, V., Borcut, M., Tripled fixed point theorems for contractive type mappings in partially ordered metric spaces. Nonlinear Anal. 74 (2011) 4889--4897]. Examples to support our new results are given.

Remarks on Ume's u-distance and Ekeland's variational principle
Author: Georgiana Goga
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present some remarks on Ume's new concept of distance called u-distance, which generalizes w-distance and Suzuki's t-distance. As an application of the u-distance version of Ekeland's variational principle, we establish a generalized flower petal theorem.

Vector subgroupoids. The computation of all vector subgroupoids of a modular vector groupoid
Author: Gheorghe Ivan / Vasile Popuţa
Abstract: A vector groupoid is an algebraic structure which combines the concepts of groupoid and vector space such that these are compatible. In this paper we study the vector subgroupoids. Also, the vector subgroupoids of a modular vector groupoid are computed.

Existence of solutions of inverted variational inequalities
Author: Szilard Laszlo
Abstract: In this paper we introduce two new generalized variational inequalities and we give some existence results of the solutions for these variational inequalities involving operators belonging to a recently introduced class of operators. We show by examples, that our results fail outside of this class. Further, we establish a result that may be viewed as a generalization of Minty's theorem, that is, we show that under some circumstances the set of solutions of these variational inequalities coincide. We also show, the condition that the operators, involved in these variational inequalities, belong to the above mentioned class, is essential in obtaining this result. As application, we show that Brouwer's fixed point theorem is an easy consequence of our results

A numerical method for the solution of an autonomous initial value problem
Author: Flavius Pătrulescu
Abstract: Using a known interpolation formula we introduce a class of numerical methods for approximating the solutions of scalar initial value problems for first order differential equations, which can be identified as explicit Runge-Kutta methods. We determine bounds for the local truncation error and we also compare the convergence order and the stability region with those for explicit Runge-Kutta methods, which have convergence order equal with number of stages (i.e. with 2, 3 and 4 stages). The convergence order is only two, but our methods have a larger absolute stability region than the above mentioned methods. In the last section a numerical example is provided, and the obtained numerical approximation is compared with the corresponding exact solution.

C^k realizations of backward control systems on time scales
Author: Ewa Pawluszewicz
Abstract: The paper studies partially defined nonlinear backward systems on time scale. It presents of necessary and sufficient conditions for existence of realization of an abstract input/output response map. Such realization consists of a dynamical system with an output defined for nabla differential and initialized at some initial state. However, the obtained result is not constructive.
